Client Preparation Guide

How To Prepare For Your Appointment

To ensure a smooth and efficient notarization process, please review the following before your appointment:

  • Valid Identification: All signers must present a current government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
  • Document Review: Review your document in advance to confirm all pages are complete, with no blank spaces or missing information. Do not sign the document until the notary instructs you to do so.
  • Witness Requirements: If witnesses are needed, please arrange for them to be present at the appointment unless otherwise coordinated.
  • Payment: Confirm your total fee in advance. (Invoice is sent before appointment is officially confirmed). Accepted payment methods include cash, Zelle, Apple Pay, and other approved electronic options.
  • Location Readiness: If providing location, please ensure the signing area is well-lit, quiet, and free from distractions to allow for proper verification and documentation.

What To Expect During Your Appointment

Our notaries are committed to providing professional, compliant, and secure services at every appointment:

  • Verification: The notary will verify your identity and ensure your understanding and willingness to sign.
  • Document Execution: You’ll sign the document in the notary’s presence, and the notary will complete the certificate and affix the official seal.
  • Recordkeeping: The notary will record the transaction in a secure log for state compliance purposes.
  • Additional Copies: If extra copies or certified duplicates are requested, these may incur a small additional fee.
  • Professional Conduct: Our notaries maintain confidentiality and uphold Maryland state laws throughout the process.
